The Home Stead

As many of you will never be able to see our sweet little place, I've decided to document it in photographs and put it here for all to see!
(note: I took these pictures after a spent a few hours cleaning the place. Its only ever this clean about twice a month... if that... ;)

This is the front door to our apartment. We are at ground level with no one above us! And since that is the case we actually live in a very quite complex :) Please notice the rose bushes to either side of our door. I think they add a nice homey feel to the place.

This is a picture right inside our front door. 90% of those books belong to Mike. I can add a few more to the collection. But most of my books are still up in Utah. And if your wondering what the big circle on the wall is, that's my genealogy chart. And yes I have finally started to fill it in!

This is our little dinning area. Mike's sister Brandalyn gave us this table when she moved to New York. AND WE LOVE IT!!!

This is our tinny kitchen. I barley have enough room to make anything. But according to Mike miracles happen and good meals do emerge from here. ;)

This is our bed room. And for all those who knew me before, yes the white bored and cork bored have fallowed me into married life :) (I've had these since I was in jr. high)

And last but not least our itsy bittsy bathroom... Well at least it's fairly easy to clean :D

And that is our apartment! Pleas still try and come visit!

bagels

As many of you know. I now work at Bruegger's bagels. Its fast food place whether my friend Becca (who also works there) will admit or not. But it is one of the most delicious fast food places I have ever eaten at. Why? Because everything is served on Bagels! Well let me explain a bit more.
Think of subway. Sandwiches on subs. Well Bruegger's is sandwiches on bagels. Or you can just buy the bagels and they have tons of different choices or sandwiches or you can just build your own. Many people will come in and be staggered at how many choices there are. And as soon as they make a decision we throw another choice at them. It can be kind of funny to watch their faces.
I like working there. The people I work with are great! We all love to tease and each other and give each other grief but that's what makes the day go by faster.
The only down fall of working there is that you have to wake up early. And I mean early. If I open I have to wake up at 4:45 to be at work at 5:30. I was waking up at 4:30 but then I deiced that I could sleep in for 15 min if I showered the night before :) and that's defiantly a plus.
So why am I working at Bruegger's in the first place? Because I needed a job that would let me watch Auna. And so even the early hours have a plus. I still get to see my niece every day and hang out with her :)

Blueberry Pancakes

This is Michael's super big pancake. He's the one who told me to get the camera and take a picture.

This is the best picture I could get of Micheal with his super big pancake, because he kept trying to push me away. Apparently he didn't want HIS picture taken.

This is the result of Mike pushing and me clicking. It result caused him to glare at me for 15min.

Well the pancakes tasted great! And if he didn't want pictures taken of him he shouldn't have told me to get the camera. But I think he was just trying to cheer me up because I was sick the days we made these.

He is the best husband ever!!!

Tangled

Yeah yeah I know I said I would do this once a week. But as all of you know I'm sure life always seems to get in the way and other stuff seems more important. But here I am trying to make up for it. So I hope you forgive me and enjoy this write up of a great movie.

Mike and I received a gift card to AMC Theater. We used some of it see Narnia (which was also fabulous) and the rest of it to see Tangled. And it was absolutely amazing!!! I was stunned. It wasn't like anything I expected. It had humor, lots of humor, amazing music, and a great story line. This movie has jumped up to the top of my list of favorite Disney movies. I would have to say that it is right up there with beauty and the beast. If it wasn't for the fact that I think this movie should belong to Meagan I might adopt Rapunzel as my favorite princess. But really Meagan she has you written all over her.
Mike on the other hand, his favorite charter was the horse. Every time the horse appeared on screen he would crack up laughing. And because he would laugh all the children who were sitting behind us would start to laugh and their parents would get annoyed and tell them to quite down which in turn would only make Mike and I laugh harder and make the kids laugh harder and it was just a vicious cycle.
Taking a small detour now...
Shortly before we went and saw this movie Mike cut him self shaving. A small nick on the chin. So about two days after this happened I look over at him while we are lying in bed and I say "Are you growing a ghoti?" (If anyone knows how to spell ghoti please let me know...) Mike laughs and says "Did you just barley notice? Mariah, I've been growing it for almost three days now! Not like have much of a choice..." And he points to his scab. "Oh..." I reply "Well what if you shaved it to a kicker?" Not knowing what that was I explained it to him. How its just the hair on the chin. And so he decided to try it. And here are the results...

Well, I think he's pretty good looking. And I don't know what you guys think but I think that he looks a lot like our daring hero/thief in the wonderful Disney movie tangled. I'll leave you guys to your own opinion and well I think he does :D

Why this blog is here!

I have decided to make a blog about my family. True its only me and my hubby and our life is kinda dull. But for some reason I thought that there might be people in my life who I don't call enough or text enough or whatever enough and that they might want to see whats going on in the life of M&M Smith. And being a genealogy person I figured that this would be a great way to keep a history of my family. So once a week I will take a picture and write a blog about it.
I hope you all enjoy and will actually read this blog.
LOVES!!!
