The Chop Off

I have officially donated my hair twice. First time was my sophomore year. I did it the night of prom. I told everyone it was because I was depressed I didn't get asked. But really I was just bored and thought that night would be a good night to do it :) The second time was right after graduation. I figured it was a good time for changes. Now I am on the path to number three!

That's right! I did it! I chopped off my really long hair.  I really thought I was going to be really sad to see it go. But I wasn't. Michael was though. I came back to my parents house (where we tend to spend a lot of our Saturdays) after my hair cut to find Michael sitting on the couch reading. I walk over to him and he says "Oh wow dear looks really nice!" with his eyes closed! As soon as he opens them however he says "Wait! I thought you said it would be just passed the shoulders! That is way short! My wife doesn't have short hair go bring her back!" Of course he was joking so I jokingly threw a pillow at him. He likes my hair. He thinks it looks really cute and I like it because its cooler and doesn't get as tangled when Michael plays with it! Mwahahaha!!!

Here are the pictures of the hair cut with belly included for all those who wanted them! :)

My mom took these pictures and insisted on taking a front shot.
She says you can barley tell  from the front. I guess its true sigh....
But here you can tell a bit more :D

Belly Picture with Laughs and Tears

Yep its one of those cheesy mirror pictures but this is what you get! I don't have much of a belly in this picture its gotten a bit bigger since I've been trying to eat more. The doctor was upset with me last time I went in because I had lost a pound. So she told me I had to start eating more food. Dairy and protein mostly. I have gained 3 pounds since then. I have 2 weeks left and seven more pounds to go!

Being pregnant is really weird. It does funny things to your emotions. Awhile ago Michael was teasing me about something I don't even remember. But we were in bed and I start to cry and laugh. Michael gets a concerned look on his face and asks "Honey, are you crying cause your laughing or because your upset?" And I replied in a whimpering voice "I don't know!" Then he starts to laugh like a mad man! And if you know Michael's laugh its impossible not to start laughing with him. So in the end I think I was laughing because I was happy. I think....

SPRING TIME!

So I'm in love with flowers. Especially in the spring! So this is me getting snap happy and taking a close look at all the flowers in my yard :)

I looked out the window and what did I see?

Pop corn popping on the "apricot" tree!

Yep spring is here! And I'm loving every bit of it!!

Working in the Garden!!!

I was taking pictures on Saturday of my family working out in the garden and I realized that I had a ton of pictures on my camera that I hadn't blogged about yet. So be forewarned this is the first and of many to fallow.

One of the things I really missed when I was away from home (college or Arizona) was working in the garden with my family. Well, Michael and I usually go over to my parents on Saturdays because of Michael's work. This particular Saturday my family just happened to be starting the garden! Now not being able to bend over like I use too with my tinny belly in the way I took pictures! Although I did get to get my hands in the dirt at least a little :)

This is my mom's Green House.
It comes up and down as needed and is a new addition to the back yard this spring.
The cabbage broccoli cauliflower and many other starts inside the green house.

This is Cody trying not to laugh and his click happy sister ;)

To help keep the soil healthy in our garden my family will through their fruit and vegi peels on the garden. Then Dad tills it under. Well when getting the garden "put away" for winter Cody and Dad found a tree growing. Cody dug it up and now has in own avocado tree! He's been taking care of it all winter and is now putting it in the green house for the summer!

There is the actual working in the garden. We planted chard, peas, lettuce, carrots, radishes, and onions (yellow and red)! I can't wait to eat some!!

Baby!

So in case you haven't heard yet, we are having a baby!!! Yep that's right our first one! We are both way excited and way nervous. But we know its the right thing to do, for sure! Here is how we decided it was time for a baby...
I (of course) wanted a baby about three months after we got married. The baby hunger would come and go but  I was slowly wearing Michael down!
Once we moved to Utah and I didn't nanny for my niece any more, the baby hunger was here to stay. But we couldn't see how we were going to pay for a baby. I didn't have a job, Michael was in school full time, and we weren't even paying all our bills. But during church one day Micheal received the impression we should pray about having a baby and expect our answer during general conference. I was so excited! I was so sure that there was going to be a talk saying "HAVE CHILDREN NOW!"
But it didn't turn out quite like that. As I watched conference and listened to Elder Anderson the answer I received was that it was a decision me and Michael and Heavenly Father had to make together. Micheal's answer however was "Where is your faith?" So after wards we went on a walk and decided that after I had my tonsils taken out we would try and have a baby!
So on January 8, we found out I was pregnant! And after that slowly began to tell the world. The due date is Aug 31, 2012. So mark your calendars!

All Four Seasons Continued

I've deiced the seasons over lap. I've all ways known this but it really hit me this year. After the first snow fall melted the leaves finished falling. Michael and I deiced to go out a rack them up one last time. It took us about an hour and a half and when we headed back in I looked at Mike and started laughing. I told him to stay there and I went and garbed my camera.

That white stuff on his hat is frozen sweat! It was so cold outside that is hot sweat froze to his hat! I couldn't get over it. And when he took off his hat I could see steam rising from his head. I knew I had a hot husband! :)

Christmas 2011

This was our second Christmas together and I have to say it was a pretty amazing. Nothing special and I didn't even take pictures...(shame on me! I'm already regretting it.) But this is how it went. We went over to my parents house on Christmas eve to have exchange the sibling gifts. We use to draw names but, as the family has spread out and grown a little bit more, Mom put us on a rotation instead. So every year for as long as I can remember we would open the sibling gift on Christmas Eve. So I'm glad we can continue this tradition for a little while longer. My brother Michael had us this year and gave us two different kinds of potato mashers! (I've been wanting on for forever!) and a 50 dollar gift card to a sea food restaurant! Michael and I have deiced to spread it out into 2 dates. I'm very excited!!
We slept over at my parents house (thanks Kristie for lending us your bed!) When we woke up at about 7:30 (fairly early for a house full of adults) we started making breakfast. The presents had to wait because we were waiting for my brother Michael to come over from his place and someone silly (me) told him 9 o'clock. But we ended up making  a very yummy breakfast of eggs, bacon, and waffles with caramel. My dad heard that caramel syrup (the stuff you drizzle on ice cream) was good on waffles. So we tried it out and it wasn't half bad.
My brother showed up at about 8:30 (YEA!) and we opened presents! This year me and Michael couldn't do anything to exciting because we were so broke. But thanks to credit card points we were able to have something under the tree. We ordered some books from Amazon for Mike (he finished both of them in about a week before he had to go back to school) and we have a gift card to the movies. Mike said I could have a gift card to go get some clothes. And then I found out he spoiled me. While he was out, with my dad, buying things to change the oil on our cars he picked me up another gift. I've been saying how I've wanted a nice purse to take with me when we go on dates or to other nice events. He managed to find me one. And I love it!!! We then went and listened to my mother preform in her choir program and spent the rest of the day lazing about.
And that was our Christmas!
Even though we spent Christmas at my parents we did manage to decorate our apartment. At least a little. My mother lent the the decorations and I think they turned out nice.

Fun random decorations on top of our book cases.

My mother's spear nativity set. Joseph is missing.
So we just say he is out side standing watch !

My grandmother gave me this Santa Clauses from around the world.
It was fun to be able to put them up in my own home this year.

Our tree. It may look sad with no ornaments. And that's because it is.
Some how we never got around to really decorating it. So we ended up putting our
Christmas cards on it instead. I think when all is said and done it wasn't to bad.

See we got the lights on it! The lights are the most magical part i n my opinion .
So at least we got that part done!
